Nandini Jungle Resort and Nusa Dua

We saw two performances of the Barong dance which is the traditional Balinese dance - one in Ubud, and one at our resort in Nusa Dua. They are very interesting and tell the story of the villain vs. hero rescuing the damsel-in-distress. The villain is the Barong.

Our resort in Nusa Dua.

The Barong

Above is the restaurant at the resort n Nandini.

The picture above is from our balcony overlooking the jungle. The picture below shows how steep the hill is. The villas are cantilevered over the jungle!

Our next stop was Bali. We stayed 4 days in the Nandini Jungle Resort nestled in the middle of the rice paddies in the mountainous rain forest, where on June 19, 2010, we celebrated our SIXTH anniversary. We went hiking, bike-riding through the villages and the rain forest, river-rafting, and general sight-seeing. It was an amazing location, and the people were wonderful! The next 4 days were at the beach resort in Nusa Dua. Julia Roberts was in Dempasar (nearby) filming "Eat, Pray, Love" and America was doing pretty well in the World Cup, so the natives were excited that we were Americans. Most of their tourists are from Australia and Europe.

Singapore

This is the famous Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Casino, and Convention Center. It has three towers with a sky-bridge that connects them at the top with restaurants, a swimming pool, and a putting green. It's beautiful and an amazing architectural feat!!

A week after I got home from Austin, we headed "down-unda'" to visit Gavin in Australia. On our way there, we stopped off for 4 days in Singapore, 8 days in Bali, 4 days in Sydney, AU, and 5 days in New Castle, AU where Gavin is attending college for a year as a senior exchange student from UNM.

June 2010 in Austin

As soon as school was out, I was off to Austin to visit Matt, Paige, and our Baby Duncan.
Duncan loves to play in the water. Here he is in his fancy swimmin' pool! As hot as it is in Austin, this is a great way to keep cool.
He has changed so much! Do you see all those teeth??? Eight at last count!

MOTHER'S DAY 2010

Matthew, Duncan and Paige celebrate her SECOND Mother's Day. She was pretty busy last year and missed the party, but got THE BEST present!!

Daddy and Duncan take a ride in the golf cart at Mimi's.

Duncan's First Birthday May 10, 2010

Duncan likes his Elmo phone - now he can call Grammy and Bobpa anytime he wants!

Should we go swimmin', or just stand out here and look at the cool water???

Looks like he's figured out what to do about his cowboy cake!
